With the 2022 Maverick, Ford is looking to capture the market for drivers who crave adventure without denting their wallets or sacrificing maneuverability. Most trucks on the market today are behemoths, hard to navigate in tight spots, and thirsty for gas. The new Ford Maverick starts at an affordable $21,490, with a standard hybrid drivetrain getting 40 mpg city, and as a compact truck, can easily squeeze through tight city streets.Ford has made sure not to sacrifice the strength for size, however. The new Maverick boasts a hybrid powertrain with a 2.5-L inline-four engine and electric motor on a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), producing 191 horsepower and able to tow 2000 pounds. If you need a bit more oomph, you can opt for the available non-hybrid turbocharged motor, with front- or all-wheel drive, 250 horsepower, and able to tow 4000 pounds.
When you get into the cabin of the Maverick, you’ll notice how much thought Ford put into the design of the space.
